On the 5th of December 2025,
Denmark’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, announced the
closure of the embassy in Myanmar by the end of 2026. This happens, as part of
a larger restructuring of Danish diplomatic missions abroad. A process for
closing the embassy in Myanmar will be commenced in due course. Until the
closing, the Danish embassy in Yangon will continue to carry out its duties to
Myanmar. For
