09.03.2015  09:57

Denmark supports the organisation Solidarités International (SI) which has an important impact on people’s life in Myanmar Dry Zone through the management of water resources and the development of home gardens. Over 2,000 households are expected to increase their access to improved water sources and 330 households are benefitting from gardening and cash based interventions.

Denmark also supports SI’s work in Chin State where the farmers are supported with seeds, tools and technical support. SI also contributes to the diversification of the diet with the creation of compound vegetable farms for 368 households and the development of cash crops for 637 households. Finally, the access of the villagers to basic services (health, education, etc.) and markets are improved, through the recent construction of 37.71 km of tracks between villages and the main access roads.
