POLITICAL AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
OFFICER

The Embassy of Denmark in Yangon is looking to recruit a highly motivated and dedicated Myanmar national to join our dynamic team as political and development programme officer.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the programme officer will primarily be focused on monitoring and reporting on the political situation in Myanmar, and on management of Danish development cooperation activities in Myanmar. Tasks will include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:

  • Provide in-depth analyses of the political situation in Myanmar and assist the embassy in regular reporting on the situation
  • Be responsible for daily management of one or more development programmes supported by the embassy (hereunder education) including related administrative tasks and partner dialogue
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Required qualifications

  • A relevant university degree
  • A minimum of 2-3 years relevant work experience
  • In-depth understanding of the political landscape in Myanmar with a well-developed network among relevant actors
  • Demonstrated programme management skills
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience from working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Verbal and written Myanmar language skills
  • A distinct independence and sense of responsibility in the work approach
  • Outgoing and service-minded approach towards clients and counterparts
